An outstanding Regency period brass inlaid mahogany writing box of intricate design. The well patinated fiddle back mahogany carcass strikingly inlaid with cut brass on the top and front, brass recessed handles to the sides. Opening the box reveals an original leather writing slope, stamp compartment and original ink well. Within the writing slope a removable storage tray revealing a secret panel covering two concealed drawers. England. C.1815
