Fine Formal Antique Furniture:
Our collection of more formal English and Continental antique furniture dates from between the late 17th century through to the 20th century. Here you will find antique chests of drawers, bookcases, commodes, centre tables, extending dining tables, occasional furniture, chairs, cupboards and lots more. We specialise in sourcing pieces made using the finest timbers including walnut, mahogany, rosewood, satinwood and other more exotic hardwoods occasionally found in formal antique furniture such as padouk or coromandel. We also refine our selection process when purchasing items to include pieces that display exceptional technique in manufacture whether that is the introduction of decorative inlay or intricate hand carved details. Each of our items is hand-picked with quality, authenticity, form and rarity in mind. From William and Mary and Queen Anne period walnut furniture, through the Georgian era, where the use of mahogany became more prevalent and the designs more classically inspired and intricate, to the Regency period with all its flamboyant use of materials and new design concepts. You will note that we stock many interesting items produced on the continent during the same periods.
